Cops: Man Battered Kin During Argument Over HBO's "Game Of Thrones"

Meet Michael Podniestrzanski.

The Florida man, 23, was arrested last night after an argument over the new HBO fantasy show “Game of Thrones” turned violent.

As will happen during shows “based on medieval times,” Podniestrzanski and his cousin “got into a verbal altercation” over which of the cable program’s characters was going to win, according to a Manatee County Sheriff’s Office report.

“Game of Thrones,” which premiered last Sunday night, is based on the first book in a series of “epic fantasy” novels written by George R.R. Martin.

With the argument between Podniestrzanski and Joshua Ross escalating, Podniestrzanski allegedly “took a swing at” his kin. After scuffling for a bit, Podniestrzanski’s cousin “ended up getting thrown in to the front window during the altercation.”

Podniestrzanski was arrested for misdemeanor domestic battery and transported to the county jail, where he is currently being held.

If he'd bother to read the books, he'd know the answer to "which of the cable program’s characters was going to win". The answer being, none of them. Of course, reading umpteen thousands of pages is too much work, it's much easier to throw your cousin through a window.

It was in Florida. I've been paying attention, and most of these stories are from Florida and Texas. You'd think crazy California would make a showing, but not. TX and FL rule the Smoking Gun.

I'm not from US and not familiar with the laws in different states but I also noticed the high number of FL cases. Could it be related to differences on access to police records in the different states? e.g. FL having more loose laws thus allowing TSG to have easier access to it's nutty cases?

TSG should start adding the state in which the event occurred. I've always held that one state is just as nutty as any other (mostly as a defensive position, since I'm from California), but I'm getting a gut feeling that Florida is taking a long lead on loser crime. It'd be good to see data.
