"I Just Broke Into A House And The Owner Came Home," Intruder Tells 911 Operator

After breaking into an Oregon residence last night, Timothy Chapek, 24, barricaded himself in a bathroom after the owner unexpectedly arrived home. Chapek, you see, was worried that Hilary Mackenzie might be armed (or that her barking German Shepherds could prove problematic).

So he called 911 seeking help. “I just broke into a house and the owner came home,” Chapek told a police operator. “You broke into a house?” the surprised operator responded. “I think she’s got guns,” Chapek added.

Simultaneously, Mackenzie called police to report that there was an intruder in her Portland home (she told an operator that Chapek had reported he was taking a shower). The pair’s dueling 911 calls can be listened to here:

Chapek's 911 call:

Mackenzie's 911 call:

According to a Portland Police Bureau report, Chapek told cops he was “taking a shower, nothing more.” Mackenzie reported that none of her belongings were out of place and that Chapek had “earlier made some utterance…that ‘Mexicans’ had kidnapped him and put him in the bathroom.”

Chapek, pictured in the above mug shot, was arrested and charged with criminal trespass.

Now that's a very good lesson for the thugs! Gun Holsters
Well, you see, since Oregon shares a border with Mexico, It's obvious that drug dealers from Juarez saw him innocently breaking into a house and thought him easy prey. They entered the house, bypassing any potential valuables to get to the one person in the whole situation to be a deadbeat loser and asked for his lunch money. He objected saying, "But I need those funds to purchase my daily milk, so as to ensure my bones are properly developed!" The cruel (fictitious) Mexicans were unmoved and hung him from the shower curtain rod by his underwear (a maneuver known as the dreaded Rear Admiral). Luckily, however, this brave young soul was able to retrieve his cell phone and call for help before an evil member of the gun-owning public returned to her place of residence, where she clearly had no business just to harass this poor fellow. The cops, however, managed to arrest the one innocent man in the whole situation in a gross miscarriage of justice. Clearly this man is a freedom fighter whose only crime (besides breaking and entering) was daring to dream of a world where anyone can walk into anyone else's home and take a shower, a world where we are not judged by the smelliness of our skin, but by the content of our character! Break-in shower dude, the world may vilify and mock you, but I salute you.
Mexicans get blamed for everything. Next, he's gonna claim they're in the country illegally.
It's journalistically irresponsible and bigoted for the smoking gun to release a bigoted 911 recording without editing out the bigotry. In this news release, the smoking gun has aired the recording of a 911 operator using the political label, "Hispanic," as a racial category that could be distinguished from white, black, or Asian. Such a distinction is factually impossible and bigoted. In addition, by airing (to the world) the bigoted conclusions of the 911 operator, The smoking gun is promoting and proliferating the bigoted concept that the political label "Hispanic" is, in some way, a racial or ethnic category distinguishable from white, black, or Asian. If one has learned anything from the latest 2010 Census one has learned this: the word "Hispanic," including the political use of the word, does not in any way equate to race or the physical description of individuals. The premise in this news piece is clear: In the United States, if one is describe as "Hispanic" then one must have the same biological features and physical characteristics as everyone else described as "Hispanic". Latin Americans are as diverse as non Latin Americans, and it is impossible to describe them as having similar features or physical characteristics. It's striking that all over the United States, the police don't seem to be messing with the meaning of the word "Anglo". So why are the police messing with the word "Hispanic?" Both labels-- "Anglo" and "Hispanic" --have the same historical meaning-- white European-- and both words represent European countries with a proud history of accomplishments. So why then is the smoking gun respecting "Anglo" America while at the same time opportunistically encouraging proliferating a stereotyping of the meaning of the word "Hispanic?
you are an insecure MORON. Get a life
Dude you need to chill out and take a pill. Maybe a few pills. Not every word said by everyone everywhere is intended to be offensive.
@writewhat'sright...you are a liberal idiot! Stuck in a dream utopia, where people aren't allowed to think for themselves or have an opinion on describing the way someone looks. Go find another fight you democrat zombie sheeple. If the intruder was in my house, he would have been shot or wish he was dead, no matter how he looks or is described.
Wow, what an idiotic rant. No one will ever accuse you of being a genius.
boooring! This is the smoking gun for christ's sake. No, but seriously - are you requesting that a news source EDIT a 911 call in their reporting to appease your moral sense of how the operator (and the general public) should categorize and refer to different ethnicities, specifically hispanics? I highly doubt the op was trying be slanderous; using the term hispanic if far different that calling someone a dirty jew or ***. If you have such an issue go piss on the operator not the site - it's called reporting with accuracy - get over it.
Is my local library bigoted because I can check out a copy of Huck Finn? Am I bigoted because I've read it?
