Sharon Stone Pays Up

JULY 7--Claiming that she was stiffed for nearly $20,000 in overtime and vacation pay, Sharon Stone's former personal assistant recently filed a legal complaint against the actress with California's labor commission, records show. Within days of the May 7 issuance of a Division of Labor Standards Enforcement notice of claim, Stone settled with Deana Bolton, who worked for the Hollywood diva from January 1998 to last September, when she quit her $85,000 job. According to an initial claim drafted last year by Bolton, she worked 40-60 hours a week for Chaos Productions, Stone's company, and was "on call 24/7." Bolton, 44, alleged that she was the only Stone employee not to be paid overtime and had been rooked of vacation pay. Specifically, Bolton said that she was charged for vacation days when Stone decided to close her production office, though "I still worked out of her home on those days." Bolton, who sought $19,382.80 from Stone, declined to speak with TSG when we reached her on her cell phone. Citing a confidentiality agreement, Bolton's lawyer, Carrie Ann Colton, said she could not discuss details of the financial settlement with Stone. (4 pages)
