SEPTEMBER 2--Kobe Bryant's lawyers have subpoenaed medical records of the Colorado woman he has been charged with sexually assaulting, according to a recent court document. But the North Colorado Medical Center filed the below motion to quash the Bryant subpoena seeking records related to the 19-year-old's brief February hospitalization (she was admitted after police determined she was a "danger to herself"). Citing patient confidentiality--which the teenager has not waived--medical center officials have asserted that the records are "indisputably privileged" under state law. The woman was hospitalized for about three days following an incident in her dorm room at the University of Northern Colorado. (4 pages)
