Inmate Tried To Pay Bail With Phony Currency
Things quickly go from bad to worse for perp
APRIL 22--Following his arrest yesterday, a North Carolina man sought to pay his bail with counterfeit currency, according to cops.
Jarious Tremayne Mock, 20, was approached by cops after officers heard him yell, “Fuck the police” as he departed a Greensboro nightspot.
While citing Mock on a drunk and disorderly count, police ran a warrants check and realized that he had failed to appear in court in connection with a prior marijuana possession case.
So Mock, pictured above, was arrested and transported to the Guilford County lockup, where jailers informed him that he could immediately bail himself out of custody by posting $200.
Mock accepted the offer and directed officers to remove cash from his wallet. It was then that investigators realized that Mock was offering a counterfeit $100 bill. A subsequent check of his wallet turned up a phony $20 bill as well.
The fake currency was seized by police, who slapped Mock with an additional charge of possession of a counterfeit instrument or currency. As a result of the new count, Mock’s bail was increased to $2000.
Mock is not listed on the current jail roster, so it appears that he was able to cobble together enough authentic currency to secure his release earlier today.
Mock is pictured below in a Facebook photo showing him enjoying the taste of a Benjamin while flashing a gaudy watch.
