Cops: Gunman Arrested For Karaoke Rage
Bar patron, 34, was angry that tunes machine was not working
MARCH 17--Upset that the karaoke machine at a Florida bar was not working, a man pointed a Glock pistol at another patron and fired off a round, according to police who arrested the suspect, a convicted felon barred from possessing a firearm.
Police allege that Aaron Jablonski, 34, was at the Overtime Sports Bar around 2:30 AM Saturday when the karaoke unavailability resulted in him exiting the bar “upset about the music.”
Outside the Clearwater business, a 26-year-old man “tried to get...Jablonski to calm down,” according to an arrest affidavit. Denied karaoke, Jablonski was not in the calming down mood, cops allege.
Seen at right, Jablonski allegedly pulled a handgun from his waistband and pointed it at the victim, saying, “I don’t fucking care.” Jablonski “was seen by witnesses brandishing a firearm and firing off a round,” a complaint states.
The victim, whose Facebook page has several photos of him performing karaoke, told police he was in fear that Jablonski would kill him.
When officers arrived at the bar, Jablonski was still in possession of a Glock 9mm pistol. Which, investigators say, was illegal since Jablonski was previously convicted of battery on a law enforcement officer.
Jablonski was arrested on a pair of felony raps: aggravated assault and felon in possession of a firearm. He is locked up in the county jail in lieu of $40,000 bond. Jablonski’s rap sheet includes convictions for DUI; disorderly conduct; theft; resisting an officer with violence; violating probation; and two separate incidents of battery on a law enforcement officer.
A judge has ordered Jablonski to have no contact with the victim and stay away from the Overtime bar.
Court records do not reveal if Jablonski has a go-to karaoke song. Perhaps a Bobby Fuller Four number? (2 pages)
