Paris Hilton, American Treasure
Hard-working heiress phones it in during sworn deposition

MAY 6--As we've previously reported, Paris Hilton is being sued over some crappy movie in which she appeared (the producers claim she failed to adequately promote the bomb). In a March 4 deposition, Hilton, 28, again showed why she is an American treasure. While being quizzed about her cellular phone usage, Hilton noted that, 'I've never looked at my phone bill in my entire life,' adding that she was unaware who paid such things for her. 'With my phone I never know, because I lose it all the time,' she testified. 'I probably get a new cell phone like every two weeks.' Later in the deposition, when questioned again about her phone, Hilton was apologetic: 'I just feel bad. This is my first time looking at a phone bill.' When asked about her responsibilities as an executive producer on 'Pledge This!,' the film at the center of the U.S. District Court civil litigation, Hilton replied, 'I'm not sure what a producer does, but--I don't know, help get cool people in the cast.' On a more serious (and depressing) note, the court file includes a confidential chart detailing the payments Hilton received in 2006 and 2007 for promotional work. During those two years, Hilton banked a whopping $22,013,660.25 pushing perfume, Prosecco, clothing and other products. She also banked $150,000 for appearing at a Las Vegas nightclub's 2007 Halloween party (Hilton is pictured above at that event). (7 pages)
