Robbery rap for Florida man who boosted popular body spray
OCTOBER 21--Meet David Mlynick.
The Florida man is facing a robbery charge for allegedly stealing TAG body spray from a grocery store and then pulling what appeared to be a gun on a store manager who pursued him into a nearby business.
Mlynick, 23, allegedly boosted the deodorant--which is heavily marketed to young men--from a Publix store in Dania Beach, according to a Broward County Sheriff's Office report. The TAG body spray retails for about $4. When Publix employees spotted Mlynick and a friend trying to steal the deodorant, they confronted the second man, who placed the Tag back on a store shelf.
After Mlynick left the Publix and entered the Dollar Store next door, he was approached by Publix manager Vincent Harris, who asked for the return of the TAG body spray. Mlynick 'responded by becoming belligerent' and pulling out a black handgun, which was subsequently determined to be a BB gun.
Mlynick was eventually arrested for robbery and booked into the Broward County jail, where his mug shot was taken. 'Mlynick, who 'had deodorant spray on his person' at the time of his arrest, is being held in lieu of $50,000 bond. (2 pages)
