Wyclef Jean, the former Haitian presidential candidate, provides promoters with a list of “Must have items” for which “no substitutions may be made without prior consent/discussion,” according to his 2010 tour rider.

As seen in this excerpt, these crucial items include a pair of “Flip Flop shower shoes,” Carmex lip balm, a soft bristle toothbrush, Old Spice High Endurance deodorant, Neutrogena dandruff shampoo, Cetaphil brand soap, hand sanitizer, Neutrogena face scrub, Arm & Hammer baking soda toothpaste, a crew neck t-shirt, and “(1) Men’s Large Black Soft Cotton Boxers.”

Jean also demands a bottle of Cetaphil Intensive Moisturizing Cream, suggesting that the performer may not have the tough skin required for public office. Or perhaps he is just exceedingly ashy.

The Haiti-born, New Jersey-domiciled artist has not lost touch with his island roots, according to the rider. Jean requires a bottle of “Tabasco, Caribbean Type” hot sauce and “Caribbean jerk chicken or grilled chicken” as his dinner entrée before each show. “Accompaniments” are to include steamed broccoli, spinach, rice, and a side salad.
