Rapper Ja Rule Poses For New Headshot In Upstate New York Crib

The rapper Ja Rule (real name: Jeffrey Atkins) will be a ward of the New York State Department of Correctional Services for the next couple of years due to a state weapons rap (not to mention a federal conviction for failure to pay income taxes).

As such, Atkins posed last month for the prison mug shot seen at right.

Like Dennis Kozlowski, Atkins, 35, was apparently stripped of his trademark do-rag upon entering the state system. The performer is currently incarcerated at the Oneida Correctional Facility in upstate New York.
