Louisiana Man, 34, Dressed As Buddy The Elf Is Arrested For Drunk Driving

A man dressed as a Christmas elf was arrested yesterday for drunk driving, records show.

Brandon Touchet, 34, was nabbed at 3 AM Sunday by Louisiana cops and booked into the Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s Office jail for operating a vehicle while intoxicated and driving at an excessive speed.

Police reported that Touchet, a Lafayette resident, smelled of booze, was unsteady on his feet, and was slurring his words during questioning. After reportedly admitting to “speeding and consuming alcoholic beverages,” Touchet took a Breathalyzer test that registered his blood alcohol content at .124 (the legal limit is .08).

Touchet, seen in the above mug shot, was photographed by jail officials wearing a green elf’s costume with a furry white collar. Touchet’s outfit appears to mimic the one worn by Will Ferrell in “Elf,” the 2003 film featuring the comedian as Buddy the Elf.

Santa’s helper was freed from custody after posting $1500 bond. He is scheduled for a court appearance tomorrow.
