McDonald's Employee Took Credit For Filming Brutal Beating In Baltimore Fast Food Joint

UPDATE: McDonald’s fires worker who videotaped brutal attack.

A McDonald’s worker has taken credit for filming and uploading to YouTube the latest viral video to capture a brutal assault at a fast food restaurant.

The employee, identified as Vernon Hackett on social network accounts, posted the video clip to his YouTube page earlier this week. According to his Facebook page, the 22-year-old Hackett, pictured at right, has worked for McDonald's since September 2009 .

The April 18 assault, seen below, took place at a McDonald’s location on Kenwood Avenue in Rosedale, Maryland, a Baltimore suburb. According to the Baltimore County Police Department, a 14-year-old girl has been charged as a juvenile in connection with the assault, while charges are pending against an 18-year-old woman. “The incident remains under investigation and the State’s Attorney’s Office is reviewing the case,” added investigators.

Police said the assault victim "appeared to be having a seizure" when officers arrived at the McDonald's at around 8 PM. The victim suffered cuts to the mouth and face during the attack and was transported by medics to Franklin Square Hospital for treatment, according to a police report (click to see page 1 and page 2).

The police report identifies the victim as 22-year-old Chrissy Lee Polis, who appears identical to Christopher Lee Polis, whose rap sheet includes convictions for disorderly conduct, property destruction, and prostitution, according to court records. The civil rights group Equality Maryland has identified the McDonald’s victim as a transgender woman.

Polis told police that she was walking to the restaurant’s bathroom when she “got into a verbal argument with two black females” who “began punching her in the face with their fists and pulling her hair.” A female bystander told cops that when she tried to break up the fight, the suspects punched her in the face, which “caused her to become disoriented.” Police noted that the woman, who declined medical treatment, had “redness around her right eye which is consistent with someone punching her in the face.”

A manager at the Rosedale McDonald’s said she was “not allowed to speak to a reporter." In a corporate statement this afternoon, McDonald’s said it was “shocked by the video from a Baltimore franchise,” and called the incident “unacceptable, disturbing and troubling.” The firm added, “We are working with the franchisee and the local authorities to investigate this matter.”

As seen above, in a Facebook posting, Hackett contended that the woman seen getting beaten in the video was actually a man "dressed lik a woman" who got into a confrontation with female patrons when he refused to leave the women’s bathroom at the Baltimore-area eatery. Hackett claimed that the victim faked a seizure and, when cops arrived at the restaurant, “he got right up.”

In other Facebook messages sent Friday by Hackett (see below), he acknowledged filming the fight, denied the victim was transgendered, and claimed he had “No Hate For Anybody…No Matter Tha Gender/Race Or Sexual Preference.” Hackett exchanged messages with Facebook users who wrote him to express anger about the video and his gleeful play-by-play.

Hackett did not reply to TSG messages sent to his Twitter and Facebook pages, which he subsequently deleted late this morning. He also has deleted his YouTube channel.

well racism is racsim whether it's by whites or blacks. i think blacks are more sensitive to racism because of their history in this country. i think that's understandable .
Sounds like you're using ancient history to justify reverse racism, reverse discrimination, and the fallacious double-standard mindset. That's so sad. With that kind of "reasoning," you must be a liberal.
no, i'm not a liberal, didn't vote for obama. not condoning this, but who's to say it was motivated by race. maybe it was. if it was that's wrong. it's wrong anyway, no matter what motivated these girls unless it was in self defense. that does not appear to be the case though.
Yeah, I am NOT one of those saying that it was definitely motivated by race. What I myself have been saying is that if the situation had been reversed and the attackers were white, RACE is all we would have been hearing about from the mainstream media, they would have been ostentatiously -- and with deliberate hypocrisy -- trying to tie this to the Tea Party and Limbaugh and Palin and any other popular conservative figure you care to name. The so-called hate-crime laws would have been invoked post-haste.Sharpton and Jackson would be getting face-time on the nightly news to spew their race-baiting rhetoric. I have been decrying the glaring double-standard and the nauseatingly remiss liberal media.
i despise the race baiters like sharpton and jesse jackson who exploit incidents like this for their own personal gain (and that' really why they do it) but that's really another issue. unless i know what motivated the two women and we may never know, this is just an incident however ugly and terrible that has no great implications for anyone other than those who were directly involved.
Over the next 24 hours, this gratuitous comments section – as most comments sections are gratuitous by design – will continue to attract and fester some of the most noxious, asinine and nauseatingly bigoted comments one can imagine; this is, sadly, as predictable as time and tide. Bear in mind, however, what is missing in this “story”: the truth. Instead we have different news resources -- corporations, partisan bloggers, "news aggregation websites" -- who provide us with a sum total of the truth: running roughshod over any concept of "ethical journalism" and manipulating hearsay if only to generate readership at any cost; even if it means producing abject fiction.
I find your post gratuitous. Superfluous. Not to mention wishy-washy. Imagine that. Racism sucks, all right -- except there seems to be a gaping vacuum when it comes to decrying the abjectly hateful racism and malice so many blacks project against "whitey." So spare us the sermon and the sanctimony, until the double standard gets addressed and rectified. As for "ethical journalism" and "manipulating hearsay," WHERE WERE YOU when the mainstream media, in concert, were trying to pin the Tucson shootings on the Tea Party and conservative figures? Uh-huh. A real bastion of truth and light, you are.
i don't condone that either, but two wrongs don't make a right.
What irks me is this "one-way" sanctimony against racism, while racism projected the other way gets a nudge, a wink, and a pass. There's a kind of schizophrenia in liberal thought and in the farcical political-correctness mindset -- and there's definitely a willful duplicity and insincerity about it. It can be seen on many other issues as well. Did I mention the blatant hypocrisy of the mainstream media? It's a sin.
If it weren't for a very select few of the alternative-media websites calling attention to this -- and, chiefly, the Drudge Report headlining it -- most of us would never have known about this incident. The mainstream media STILL seem loath to touch this story, in spite of it going viral on the Internet. The liberal media apparently subscribe to the Eric Holder philosophy of things. If the racial identities had been reversed, however, we would be getting an incessant stream of images of Sharpton and Jackson and other race-baiters and "righteously indignant" liberals spewing their vitriol on national TV, trying to blame the Tea Party, etc.
