Cops Arrest Motorcyclist Clocked Doing 193 MPH In Rain On New York State Thruway
The 28-year-old New York man was jailed last night after state troopers clocked his motorcycle traveling 193 mph in the rain on a thruway outside Albany.
After a trooper spotted Anderson speeding on his high performance ride at around 8 PM Wednesday, an alert was issued for “adjoining patrols,” according to a New York State Police press release. “Despite the rain and wet pavement, the driver continued at a high rate of speed on the Thruway,” noted investigators.
After being pulled over, Anderson claimed that he was en route to a hospital to visit a patient. He was issued 14 traffic tickets and booked into the Ulster County jail in lieu of $1500 bond (he has since been released).
Anderson's motorcycle, a 2005 Suzuki, was impounded at the scene.
