Snoozing For A Bruising
Cops: Florida teen assaulted father for snoring too loudly
DECEMBER 3--Meet Dylan Thomas Watson.
Perturbed by his father's snoring, the 18-year-old Floridian allegedly assaulted the man Tuesday evening--and was arrested for domestic battery.
According to a Pinellas County Sheriff's Office affidavit, Watson's father was snoozing at about 11:15 PM when he was struck in the face by a magazine thrown by his son. This was done, the report notes, "because his father was snoring on the living room sofa." When the makeshift missile apparently failed to curtail the snoring, Watson then attacked his father, forcing him to the floor and punching him in the face.
The man, who suffered minor swelling on his face, was transported to a local hospital for "precautionary reasons for the head injury." Watson, who works at a restaurant, was booked into the county jail, where the mug shot at left was snapped. Charged with a misdemeanor battery rap, he was released from custody yesterday afternoon and ordered to have no contact with his father. (2 pages)
