Police Hunt Umbilical Cord Burglar
Cops: Birth cord stolen from storage unit
FEBRUARY 11-Pennsylvania cops are hunting for an umbilical cord thief, records show.
Investigators say that an “unknown suspect” cut the lock on a storage unit and made off with an umbilical cord, electronic items, toys, vaping equipment, and housewares. The December 30 burglary also netted the thief a “baby feet print ceramic tile.”
A Pennsylvania State Police report identifies the victim as a 24-year-old man from Everett (pop. 1834), a borough in Bedford County. The items were boosted from a unit at Mackie’s Storage Center.
The police report does not indicate to whom the umbilical cord was once attached, or whether the thief intended to steal the birth cord.
Anyone with information about the commercial burglary is asked to contact the Pennsylvania State Police. (2 pages)
