Victim Wants Charge Dismissed In Dildo Attack
Woman says girlfriend does not deserve to suffer
AUGUST 18--The Florida woman who was allegedly hit in the face with a dildo during an argument with her girlfriend has asked a judge to dismiss a domestic battery charge due to the “indescribable” humiliation caused by media coverage of the incident.
In a July 29 letter to a Circuit Court judge, Gamze Capaner-Ridley described defendant Annette Kielhurn, 57, as a “kind, compassionate human being” who “truly doesn’t deserve to suffer more than she already has.”
Capaner-Ridley, 47, wrote that she did not seek to have a criminal charge filed against Kielhurn, a convicted felon who served nearly three years in prison for cocaine trafficking.
Following a July 11 argument in the couple’s St. Petersburg home, Capaner-Ridley called police to monitor her removal of some personal belongings from the residence. A day earlier, Capaner-Ridley had filed for a civil domestic violence injunction against Kielhurn (seen at right).
While a cop watched as Capaner-Ridley gathered clothing items, Kielhurn grabbed Capaner-Ridley’s arm and tried to pull a dress from her hands. After the patrolman warned Kielhurn not to touch Capaner-Ridley, Kielhurn “intentionally shoved a ‘dildo’ in the victim’s face and grabbed her right arm while arguing whose it belonged to,” reported Officer Eric Blomgren.
“Due to the defendant grabbing the victim and committing the battery in my presence, the defendant was arrested for domestic battery,” Blomgren noted.
In her letter, Capaner-Ridley stated that Kielhurn was “very emotional and upset that I was leaving,” but added that she “never felt in danger” during the confrontation with Kielhurn (who has Capaner-Ridley’s first name tattooed on her chest).
While Capaner-Ridley’s letter was docketed by court personnel, the missive has not been reviewed by Judge Holly Grissinger, according to a stamped notice on the document.
In addition to the domestic battery count, Kielhurn is also facing a separate trespassing case stemming from her June arrest for allegedly refusing to leave Johnny Vapors, a St. Petersburg business that bills itself as a “premium e-cigs and vape lounge.” (1 page)
