Pippen Daughter Arrested For Hotel Urination
Cops: NBA legend's kin relieved herself in lobby
APRIL 27--The 20-year-old daughter of NBA legend Scottie Pippen was arrested early yesterday after she walked into an Iowa hotel and urinated on the floor, according to cops who busted the intoxicated minor.
Employees at the Sheraton in Iowa City called police around 1:30 AM after Sierra Pippen relieved herself in the lobby of the hotel, which is a short walk from the campus of the University of Iowa, which Pippen attends.
Sheraton workers were familiar with Pippen since she had been arrested there earlier this month for public intoxication following a fight with hotel security.
A cop who located Pippen outside the hotel early Sunday noted that she smelled of booze and exhibited various signs of intoxication, including impaired speech and balance. Though underage, Pippen (seen at right) was “wearing two bar wristbands,” according to a criminal complaint.
Pippen declined to undergo field sobriety exams and refused a post-arrest Breathalyzer test. The Iowa City Police Department officer who collared Pippen noted that she “accused me of being racist.”
Pippen, who lives in a university residence hall, was charged with public urination and public intoxication, both misdemeanors. She was released from jail around 10 AM yesterday after posting $500 bond.
On her Twitter page, Pippen notes that, “Im More Than Scottie Pippen's daughter. Im Me Sierra Pippen:). The page includes a photo of her as a child with her father.
The Iowa undergrad is the second oldest of her father’s six children. A basketball Hall of Fame member, Scottie Pippen, 49, won six NBA championships as a member of the Michael Jordan-led Chicago Bulls. Pippen, whose number was retired by the Bulls, was also a member of two gold medal-winning U.S. Olympic teams, including the 1992 “Dream Team.” (2 pages)
