It was bad enough when lead Foo Fighter Dave Grohl pleaded guilty last year in Australia to driving a scooter while intoxicated (who knew that was a crime?).
But it turns out the former Nirvana drummer also recently lost a Down Under bid to keep his "drink driving" conviction from being officially recorded, as this Court of Appeal decision shows.
Seems Dave was "used to drinking lighter US beer and was unaware of the Queensland laws," according to his barrister. The musician was concerned that a recorded conviction would hamper his ability to perform in the Middle East.
Guess that means the Baghdad gig is off. (6 pages)
