Detective to offer hooker glossary in upcoming 'D.C. Madam' trial
MARCH 27--In a bid to introduce federal jurors to the seamy world of escort services, federal prosecutors handling the case of 'D.C. Madam' Deborah Palfrey plan to call a veteran Los Angeles detective as an expert witness to detail the 'voluminous terminology of pimps, madams, and prostitutes.' According to federal court filings, Det. Keith R. Haight is expected to appear at Palfrey's racketeering/money laundering trial, which is scheduled to begin next month in U.S. District Court in Washington.
According to a court declaration, an excerpt of which you'll find here, Haight has interviewed more than 1000 hookers during his 34-year LAPD career. During that time, Haight has become an expert in the terminology and acronyms used in the escort business--and he included this helpful glossary in his March 18 declaration. (2 pages)
