SLAPPED: Richard Simmons allegedly assaults a motorcycle salesman
MARCH 25--The mother of the woman who has accused Kobe Bryant of rape has asked a Colorado judge to quickly move the case to trial, writing that her daughter's "life is on hold and her safety is in jeopardy" until the NBA star's prosecution is complete.
In a letter to District Court Judge Terry Ruckriegle, the woman--whose name has been redacted by court officials--describes her daughter's tumultuous life since the alleged June 2003 sex assault. Along with hundreds of death threats, the victim "is followed everywhere by the defense and the media," the woman wrote in a letter filed today. (1 page)
