Florida Road Ragers Facing Felony Charges
Police: Duo pummeled female motorist
SEPTEMBER 21--A road rage incident turned felonious Tuesday afternoon when two women pulled a female motorist out of her vehicle through the window and then beat her unconscious, police charge.
Investigators allege that Alicia Scarduzio, 20, and Shelley Gemberling, 49, got into an argument at a New Port Richey intersection with victim Emily Bailey, a 20-year-old veterinary technician.
While the vehicles were stopped at a red light, Scarduzio and Gemberling exited their car and reached into the open driver’s side window of Bailey’s auto and grabbed her by the neck and hair.
Bailey, cops say, was subsequently pulled out of the car by Scarduzio and Gemberling, who then allegedly pummeled Bailey while she was in the roadway.
The attack caused Bailey to lose consciousness and left her with a broken nose and other injuries, according to the Pasco County Sheriff’s Office.
The assault ended when a male witness intervened as Scarduzio threw punches at a prone Bailey. As seen below, part of the attack was recorded by another motorist.
Scarduzio and Gemberling are facing felony battery and burglary charges. Scarduzio is the daughter of Gemberling's boyfriend.
