SEPTEMBER 24--An Ohio man pleaded guilty today to public indecency for having sexual relations with a rubber pool float, the second time he had been convicted for illegally trysting with a blow-up item.
Edwin Tobergta, 34, copped to the felony count during a hearing this morning in Butler County Common Pleas Court. Tobergta, who has been jailed since his June arrest, faces a maximum of one year in prison when sentenced in November.
Tobergta, pictured at right, was busted after he “stepped out of his back door, naked and was having sexual relations with a rubber pool float,” according to a Hamilton Police Department report. Tobergta’s lewd act “occurred in front of several children who saw his genitals and his actions with the float.
As previously reported in these pages, Tobergta was arrested in August 2011 when a neighbor reported seeing him having sex with a pink blow-up pool raft early one Sunday morning. With his pants at his ankles, Tobergta was consorting with the raft in a Hamilton alley.
Tobergta, who was convicted in the 2011 case, now has more than three public indecency convictions on his rap sheet. He is currently locked up in lieu of $25,000.
Today’s guilty plea followed a September 18 judicial ruling finding Tobergta competent to stand trial on his most recent public indecency rap. (4 pages)
