Woman Asks To Be Busted. Cop Grants Request.
"Can you arrest me? I have drugs on me."
SEPTEMBER 1--A Florida Woman is behind bars on a felony narcotics charge after she allegedly approached a cop and asked, “Can you arrest me? I have drugs on me,” according to a court filing.
Police were handling a call Tuesday night outside a St. Petersburg bar when Chelsi Leahy, 30, reportedly requested to be busted by a corporal with the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office.
Leahy, investigators say, “removed two small baggies from her pockets” and handed them to the cop, saying that they contained methamphetamine.
A field test on the substance returned a positive result for meth, according to a criminal complaint which notes that Leahy showed an "Indication of Drug Influence."
Seen above, Leahy was arrested for possession of a controlled substance, a felony. Cops say the meth weighed about two grams.
Leahy is being held in the county jail in lieu of $750 bond. Her rap sheet includes convictions for narcotics possession; theft; tampering with a motor vehicle; forgery; and leaving the scene of an accident. (1 page)
