Cops: Woman Battered Beau In Ham Dispute
Duo quarreled over how to cook Easter staple
APRIL 18--A couple’s Easter weekend argument over how to best cook a ham ended with the arrest of a Pennsylvania woman who allegedly sliced her boyfriend with an 11-inch steak knife, police report.
According to a criminal complaint, Kareese Raven, 28, and Greg Serb, 52, quarreled Saturday afternoon in the kitchen of the home they share in Centre County.
Police responded to the residence following a 911 call about an “active domestic assault involving a knife.” Upon arriving at the couple’s home, a cop found the shirtless Serb bleeding from an assortment of wounds, including a small chest laceration and a “deep bleeding laceration on his left middle finger.”
Serb told a patrolman that he had argued with Raven “over how to cook a ham.” Serb said that as he was putting the ham in the oven, Raven, “for unknown reasons,” grabbed a large steak knife and “began swinging it at him.”
While Serb avoided being seriously cut, he said that Raven struck him in the head with a ceramic bowl (which caused injuries to his “face and nose area.”). Serb added that as he fled the couple’s home, Raven threw a “large ham and shoes at him.”
Raven, seen above, was arrested for felony assault, as well as misdemeanor counts of reckless endangerment, harassment, and simple assault. A judge set her unsecured bail at $25,000 and scheduled an April 19 preliminary hearing.
Raven and Serb, the complaint notes, have been dating and living together for more than three years. They remain Facebook friends at press time. (2 pages)
