Woman Posted Suicide Note On Facebook
Cops: Michigan mother, 23, killed self with shotgun
JANUARY 24--Shortly before committing suicide yesterday, a Michigan woman went on her Facebook page and penned a farewell note stating that “i can’t handle this shit anymore,” and that her pain was “too strong…to handle any longer.”
Cynthia Lee’s electronic suicide note concluded with a message for her late mother. “mom here I come,” wrote Lee, a 23-year-old mother of three children, the oldest of whom is five. Lee’s mother died in 2007 at age 35.
Cops in Gladstone, a city near Lake Michigan, responded yesterday at around 2 PM to a report of a self-inflicted gunshot wound, according to Paul Geyer, director of Gladstone’s public safety department. Investigators discovered Lee dead from a shotgun blast inside the home of a relative.
Lee killed herself, Geyer reported, with a weapon owned by her grandfather, who had properly locked the shotgun in his home. Other family members were in the residence at the time of Lee’s suicide.
Geyer said that Lee, pictured above, used a computer in her grandfather’s home to post her suicide note on Facebook.
The note describes Lee’s father as a “good for nothing drug cheating loser” who was barred from her funeral. She also referred to a male friend who, records show, was jailed last Thursday for a parole violation. “im so sorry for hurting you just know U R MY TRUE LOVE,” she wrote.
Lee’s Facebook page is no longer online. Excerpts from her page were first posted earlier today on Media Takeout. (1 page)
