Johan Santana Will Now Wear New Balance During Public Sex Acts

It will come as a great relief to New Balance--which recently announced a multi-year endorsement deal with Johan Santana--to learn that the baseball star was not wearing its clothing when he had sleazy golf course sex last year with a Florida woman.

Santana claims the act was consensual. The woman has alleged that she was raped by the New York Mets pitcher (and this week filed a sexual battery lawsuit against the athlete).

A Lee County Sheriff’s Office property receipt shows that cops seized Under Armour underwear and Adidas shorts and shirts when executing an October 2009 search warrant at Santana’s Fort Myers home. Investigators believe he was wearing the garments during his encounter with the 35-year-old woman.

Santana’s New Balance deal calls for him to wear the company’s footwear during games, and the brand will be his “off-field athletic apparel provider,” according to a June 8 press release.
