Warren Cmsn. Member Doubted "Magic Bullet" Theory

The so-called "magic bullet" theory espoused by the Warren Commission didn't sit well with one commission member, this 1964 memo reveals. In a confidential letter to general counsel J. Lee Rankin, commission member John J. McCloy critiqued a draft of portions of the final Warren Commission report, calling into question the assertion that a bullet fired by Lee Harvey Oswald ricocheted off President John F. Kennedy and rattled around for a while inside Texas Governor John Connally. The document was recently released by the Assassination Records Review Board, a government agency formed to handle and preserve documents relating to the November 1963 murder. (9 pages)
