Mom Busted For Facebook School Shooting Threat

DECEMBER 17--In response to the reported bullying of her teenage son by classmates, an Iowa woman allegedly posted a Facebook message suggesting that the boy would “shoot up” his high school and “only get the ones that caused this. He is an excellent marks men.”

Police allege that Teri Pallat, 39, acknowledged that she posted the troubling message yesterday afternoon, but then subsequently deleted it. “She admitted that her intent was to ‘get peoples’ attention,’” according to a criminal complaint sworn by a Council Bluffs Police Department officer.

Pallat’s Facebook post stated, “And they asked why do people shoot up schools well this is exactly why and when our son does it cause I know he will they have nobody to Blame but the administration and I promise everyone he will only get the ones that caused this. He is an excellent marks men.”

Seen in the above mug shot, Pallat was charged with making terroristic threats, a felony, and misdemeanor harassment. She was released from custody today after posting $10,000 bond.

Last month, Meredith Pallat, who is married to Teri Pallat, posted a Facebook message claiming that “OUR SON IS BEING BULLIED. No one at the school sees it or will do a damn thing about it.” Pallat added that her 15-year-old son, who attends Lewis Central Senior High School, suffers from epilepsy.

Meredith Pallat (seen below) told police that her son has been bullied for more than a year. The boy, who has been suspended from school in light of the police probe, told officers that “he would in fact like to ‘hurt’ the bullies of which he listed ten names.” While the teen said he had no intention of “carrying out the threat,” his “mothers agreed to have him undergo a psychiatric evaluation” last night.

In Facebook posts yesterday, Meredith Pallat continued to criticize her son’s school for “failing” him, adding “Karma will kick them all in the ass.” In a following message, she wrote, “For Sale Cheap Lewis Central Gear as our Children are too embarrassed to wear.”

If convicted of the terroristic threat charge, Pallat faces a maximum of five years in prison. The harassment count is punishable by up to two years in custody. (2 pages)
