Man, 70, Charged With Sex Attack On Granddaughter
Cops: Victim, 19, assaulted after coke binge with kin
NOVEMBER 20--A 70-year-old man confessed to sexually assaulting his incapacitated 19-year-old granddaughter after the pair consumed cocaine and alcohol, according to Florida police.
Investigators say the attack occurred late Wednesday evening inside a waterfront Clearwater condominium the accused man and his wife purchased in December 2020 for $675,000.
As alleged in an arrest affidavit, the septuagenarian had sex with his granddaughter “while she was physically incapacitated, i.e. ‘blacked out’ due to ingestion of narcotics and alcohol.”
The victim told police that she awoke during the assault and “felt unable to resist” her 6’ 4”, 200-pound relative, who was “inside her.” Upon getting away from the defendant, the teenager texted her uncle “begging for help because her grandfather had just had sex with her.”
During police questioning, the man reportedly admitted that, after the victim woke up, he “proceeded to have oral sex with her numerous times” and “consuming alcohol and cocaine with the victim prior to the sexual activity.”
The defendant was arrested for sexual battery on a physically helpless victim, a felony for which he is being held in the Pinellas County jail in lieu of $250,000 bond.
TSG is not naming the defendant since doing so could result in the victim’s identity being known. (1 page)
